A complete camera-scanning system is built from four coordinated components: copy stand, film holder, light source and leveling head.

1. Choose a Copy Stand

The copy stand provides the working height and structural stability for the camera.

• 60 cm column: recommended for most 35mm and 120 workflows when using a full-frame camera with an approximately 70–105 mm macro lens.
• 78 cm column: adds clearance for 4×5 film, stitched large-format capture and longer lens-to-film distances.

2. Choose a Film Holder

Select a holder that matches the film format you intend to digitize. Available systems cover 35mm/135, XPan, 120 formats, 6×12, 6×17 and 4×5 sheet film. Check the individual product page for the supported image area, glass structure and included masks.

3. Choose a Light Source

A high-CRI, even light source supports consistent exposure and color. Match the illuminated area to the outside dimensions of your film holder—not only to the film frame itself. Larger holders and stitched workflows generally benefit from a larger light pad.

4. Choose a Leveling Head

• VTP Leveling Head: quick manual pitch-and-roll adjustment for daily alignment.
• RTS Micrometer Leveling Head: independent micrometer adjustment of pitch, roll and Z-axis height for critical work.

Compatibility Notes

SuperStable camera clamps use the Arca-Swiss standard. They are not directly compatible with Manfrotto or other proprietary plate formats unless a suitable adapter is used. Copy-stand packages include an Arca-Swiss compatible quick-release plate; standalone VTP and RTS heads do not include a camera plate unless the product listing explicitly states otherwise.
